| Proti's analysis should be coming up (hopefully in a few hours). I'm reserving this spot in advance.
EDIT: I finished Proti's Review, so I'm posting it here
I'm not gonna lie - I wasn't looking foward to writing Proti's review. I thought that it was bad in-game due to its limited movepool and that there are simply so many Pokemon that are better than it. To prevent this review from being jam-packed with skepticism and malice, I decided to do some research on Proti's in-game potential, and I found that it was much better than I gave it credit for. It has its flaws (every Pokemon does), but it does have legitimate uses that can make it attractive to certain teams.
Proti
Normal -> Normal/Psychic Type
Info: When PROTI becomes too large to support its weight, it splits into two new pokemon. Many unwary trainers have been caught in its hypnotic stare.
Proti evolves into Mesmablob on Lv. 24.
Overview
Proti's highest stats lie in HP, followed by Attack and Special Defense. Contrast this with its Defense, which is quite poor, and its Special Attack and Speed, which are a little below average. Its stats tend to make it a defensive Pokemon with enough Attack power to KO what it has an advantage against. Its Normal typing makes it versatile in terms of what it can go up against, but limits it resistances, which means that you must pick and choose your battles carefully. Once Proti has evolved into Mesmablob however, it becomes a bit of a sweeper, specialising in Attack, Special Attack, and Speed. Sadly, its defensive stats don't improve as much as its offensive ones, as they are quite poor. This is especially jarring with its Special Defense, which only rises by seven points, which I personally think should be changed (its Defense rises in a more realistic fashion). Regardless, Mesmablob is a very useful Pokemon, and is not one to be underestimated.
Review
The earliest place you can catch Proti is on Route 7, although it can also be found on Routes 3 and 4. When caught, it will have Osmosis (which is a Water version of Absorb with 30 Base Power), Growth, and Absorb. Osmosis is the main draw to early game Proti, as it provides a reliable way to defeat Pokemon like Metemite without committing yourself to a Water type (and Jurker isn't as good early-game as it is late-game), as well as having a Pokemon that can learn moves of various types, such as Water, Grass, Rock, and later, Poison, Water, and Psychic. Absorb isn't as useful as Osmosis on Proti, and you will rarely use it. I did find myself in a few predicaments where Absorb would have worked fabulously, but they were later in the game when I already took the move off. Growth allows Proti to beat certain Pokemon that cannot damage it too much and needs to get stronger to do good damage against, but situations like this are scarce. However, this move will serve you better than Absorb will. The first thing you'll want to do when getting a Proti is to teach it Secret Power, as it doesn't learn any other moves that give STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus). This will be its main attack on Pokemon that aren't weak to Osmosis. After getting through Obsidian Cave with Proti, it becomes a bit harder to use, with Pokemon like Mant doing more damage than you can heal off due to its low Defense. If you want to use Proti effectively here, you'll want to train it until it learn Rollout on Lv. 13, which is a move that you must teach it in order to be sucessful. It allows Proti to easily beat Fire, Flying, and Bug Pokemon that Osmosis cannot handle. This move should allow Proti to go up against trainers that have Pokemon weak to Rollout and win as long as it isn't underleveled. When reaching Mt. Argite, you'll want it to be around Lv. 20, although its fine if it's a little under that. The minimum should be Lv. 18, as it learns Hypnosis which is very helpful against Pokemon you can't beat because it puts them to sleep, which can give you a few turns to attack freely and heal yourself. Use Proti a lot during Mt. Argite, as it gains good EXP here against the wild Pokemon and trainers often use Spickle and other Pokemon, most of which Proti can beat (watch out for Sneekits though). Hopefully, Proti should evolve into Mesmablob towards the second half of the cave. Proti's evolution throws all of its defense tactics out of the window, and exchanges it for power and speed. Mesmablob focuses on taking out the opponent quickly without taking much damage to itself, which it should now be able to do because of the enhanced Special Attack making Osmosis way stronger. Just be careful though - as of now, Mesmablob's Psychic type was accidently taken out sometime in between v4.12 and v5, so don't go up against the Rocket's Junzus as they will one-shot you with Seismic Toss (which is a Fighting attack with 90 Base Power in PT) Mesmablob doesn't really due to well against Admin Sniper, but what he's guarding makes Mesmablob much stronger.
After beating the Rocket Admin, Mesmablob gains access to the more powerful Surf, which despite loss of the HP draining effect, proves to be a much more valuable attack due to Mesmablob's sweeper status and the fact that Osmosis is becoming a pretty weak move at this point. In addition, Mesmablob won't miss the HP draining effect much because it's not trying to get hit at all. Anyway, Mesmablob suprising performs really well against the second gym. The first two trainers go down quickly against Mesmablob's new Surf attack, which Alicia's first two Pokemon drop quickly after taking a Rollout. Against Brazon, Mesmablob can put its dozen legs to good use by quickly putting Brazon to sleep with Hypnosis and taking it out with a series of Rollouts. Brazon might wake up once or twice, but a Super Potion or two can help tremendously. Mesmablob can basically sweep the second gym all by its lonesome, which is pretty impressive for a Pokemon I initially considered to be trash. After that, Mesmablob can improve its Water attack even more by teaching it Bubblebeam, which you can find on a small island right off the coast of Ochre. Mesmablob doesn't have much of an advantage on the water route, but it can beat the Reagles that you face while getting to Clear Lake. When facing your Rival, Mesmablob has an advantage against Worgeddon and Searus if you picked Quenchi, and can beat Jark no problem. After facing your rival, you'll have to make your way to Russet while battling trainers; many of their Pokemon have a disadvantage against Mesmablob. Pokemon like Minipede, Tucore, and Starlit go down to Mesmablob's Rollout, while others like Gussle and Astroidus are obliterated by Bubblebeam. Pokemon to watch out for are Stritus, Nimbillow, and Welion, as Mesmablob doesn't have an advantage against them and all of them have high Attack or Special Attack and attacks that will take significant chunks of health from Mesmablob. However, Hypnosis can assist in beating these Pokemon if you feel using Mesmablob against these Pokemon is your best course of action. Also, watch out for PP problems - you don't want to run out of Secret Power or Bubblebeam while treking the route. During this time, Mesmablob may try to learn Confusion, but I find that it provides no additional coverage in this part of the game and is more of a hinderance after reaching Russet because a lot of Pokemon resist or are immune to it and its current moves will let it beat everything it needs to. When fighting Pokemon in the Team Rocket Hideout, you'll want to bring a few Super/Hyper Potions with you, because Mesmablob has no advantage against their Pokemon, but can usually beat them if you're willing to take some damage in the process. Pokemon like Pillage and Diabra are the greatest threat, as they have a lot of Attack and Special Attack, respectively. Diabra's Bite is probably the most fearsome attack Mesmablob will take in the hideout, and I highly recommend using Hypnosis against it if you have to face one. Finally, Mesmablob can basically sweep the entire third Gym the same way it does in the second Gym - Hypnosis + Rollout will basically take out all of Ben's Pokemon. However, you should be cautious against Aradian, because it will outspeed you. However, it shouldn't be able to KO you in a single hit, and as long as it doesn't wake up before you finish it off and starts to use Recover, it'll go down easily.
Moveset
Good moves for Proti include Secret Power, Rollout, Osmosis, and Hypnosis. When it evolves into Mesmablob, replace Osmosis with Surf/Bubblebeam.
Partners
Using Proti along with Urich isn't a good idea. Even though it has Absorb, which you may think will aid your team, Proti's main draw is Osmosis, which clashes badly with Urich's role as a bulky water. Using Proti with Quenchi is your best bet to drawing out its true potential, as its Osmosis effortlessly beats Metemite and does a lot against Spickle, while Rollout helps Proti reliably beat Fire, Flying, Ice, and Bug type Pokemon, all of which Quenchi is weak to. You can use it with Singet if you desire, but you will want to pair it up with a third Pokemon that can take hits, as Singet really needs defensive stability in order to work efficiently, something which Proti does not provide - instead offering versitility.
Countering Metemite
Proti only has one true weakness - Fighting Types. Junzu will cause Proti much grief, as its Seismic Toss and Karate Chop will KO it without a doubt. In addition, Proti has no good attack to attack it with, as its stats are simply higher than it due to it being a Pokemon that doesn't evolve. If Mesmablob had its Psychic typing, it would also be in danger of Bug Types. Worgeddon would pose a serious threat to Mesmablob with its Bug Bite - however, Mesmablob can fight back with its Bubblebeam. Sadly for Mesmablob though, Worgeddon has a suprisingly good amount of Special Defense, meaning that Mesmablob will never OHKO it with that move. In addition, Webtrix's Bug Bite or X-Scissor would slaughter Mesmablob if it had its Psychic typing. But sine Mesmablob can't do a good deal of damage back, and because it's so frail, you still want to be a little cautious. Fortunately, Mesmablob can always resort to Hypnosis to turn the tables. Termight would be in the same boat with the Bug Bite thing, but Mesmablob can do it in good with Rollout, so its not advised to use one against Mesmablob. Lastly, because of Mesmablob's terrible defenses (I still feel that Mesmablob's Special Defense needs a lift), many Pokemon that aren't in considerable danger of Mesmablob's moves and are speedy enough to avoid Hypnosis can go up against one without fear if they know they can KO it.
Location In Games
Route 3, Route 4, and Route 7.

| I'm glad you guys like it And I wouldn't mind seeing these on the wiki, although I'd like it if I could finish Mesmablob's review first, which should take a little more than an hour
@Yollip It took me about 90 minutes to type it up, and I started to play PT on my spare computer last week to gather information on Proti since I didn't know too much about it. |

| Finished updating Proti's review to the complete version for both here and the Wiki. Although looking back, Metemite's review looks pretty thin compared to Proti's. I might go back and touch up on it later.
But anyway, what's the next PotW gonna be? It's more fun if I don't pick |

| Lileef is a pretty good choice. I also got a suggestion to do Mant, which I also think is a good Pokemon to review. I might flip a coin or something later to decide |

| If Bouncy agrees, we could have a sidebar to the wiki showing the Pokémon of the week :)
Anyway, Lolzie's pretty rare but rather strong. I wish Mechasnap had a Steel/Dark typing though, it'd make it a beast in battle :o

Sure, why not?
Or like beneath the Twilipedia logo or something; if not we could still place it at the top of the page where the notice for Developers is now :) |

| I've given it some thought, and I've decided that I'm not going to do Lolzie as the PotW. The reasons for that is because unlike Proti, Lolzie is a) very rare to find, b) has a very limited movepool, and c) has little to no in-game usefulness. You see, since Lolzie doesn't evolve until Lv. 40, it's impossible to obtain Mechasnap, and let's face it - Lolzie is pretty weak. Sure, it has decent Attack and Defense, but the fact that it can't learn any Steel type moves and that the game isn't exactly 'kind' to steels when you get it makes Lolzie is more of a hindrance on your team than a benefit. And that's assuming you'll actually find one - I can guarantee that only a handful of individuals will actually run into one on their first playthrough, and even then, you'll need to look for a really long time to see one. So I think that it'd be a waste of a week to talk about it. When PT's next major patch comes out and the game gets further than the third gym, Lolzie may be useful for trainers later in the game. But right now, Lolzie doesn't do too well, and its inadequacies will be reflected in my writing. Instead of reviewing Lolzie, I'd like to spend the first few weeks reviewing early game Pokemon that people would probably use and want to care about how they fare in-game. So I'm probably going to review Lileef tomorrow, and people can pick what I should review afterwards if they want - just try to keep it in the beginning routes. |

| Shouldn't there be a new PotW today? If so, Lileef should be the PotW as it matches Coronation's reviews :) |
