| I have a few ideas that may or may not make the game more interesting for some people.
1.) Make more player sprites, for example, I think it would be interesting if I could play as the "nerd" or the "guitarist" opponent, I know this would require more spriting for all the animations that happen, but I think it would add another level of depth to the game for people that go online as they will most likely have a different sprite from the other person.
2.) I have always liked the idea of a side mission where you need to collect so many pokemon of a particular type, like 10 bug and 4 grass types for a person trying to open a park, or 5 rock and 4 fire types for a mining group, or something like that and you get rewarded based on which ones you bring back. - This may be a pointless idea to some/most people but its an idea I had and I figured it adds more to the game then just the story line and collecting.
3.) It seems to me that a pokemon should never forget a move that it learned, they aren't simple minded animals after all, but that the trainer can only use 4 moves in battle, I would like to suggest that when you aren't in a battle that you could customize your pokemon's moves to be any four moves it already learned so you don't have to worry about if you need the stronger move to battle with or if you keep a weaker move that is better for helping you catch wild pokemon. For some balance, it could be made that a HM move can not be swaped out for a different move, it will always be there. You could also then allow gym leaders to use 6 moves to balance the customization the player has over their own pokemon in between battles. This also would add depth to online battles as a person could have the same pokemon but with a completly different battle style from the last time you battled them, all because they could customize the four moves they are allowed to use per battle.
A few ideas I had, like them or not, just thought I would share them and see if anyone else likes any of the ideas I do.

1. This would mean a lot more sprites - for the extra running animations and back sprites. It's not really do-able unless we want the game size and load time to rise considerably.
2. Challenges are a good idea
3. That's nothing like normal pokemon games - so won't be implemented. There will be a move relearning place however, where you can re-learn certain moves for a price. |

| The reason for 3 is I always felt that Nintendo was being super lazy and didn't want to program anything like that in, since this isn't an offical pokemon game I thought it would be nice to see a deeper level of customization added to the game and it would add a whole new level of strategy to online battles. But its fine, just thought I would try and throw that out there, it didn't work. |

| It's not lazy - it'd be easy to do, but it'd make the game so much easier. Stops you thinking about which moves to keep or not. |

| You actual just described why I think its laziness on their part. Just implementing the idea would over balance the game, one would also have to redesign how the AI works and allow the AI to reconfigure the gym leaders Pokemon's moves and fighting strategy based on how the play set up his Pokemon, so basically each time someone fought a gym leader the fighting style and moves used would be different so you couldn't simply constantly change your Pokemon's move and be god like in the game. But as you pointed out, not revamping all the code for all the AI in the game would make the game easy, so logically one would not change anything as it requires the least amount of work, which seems just plain lazy to me, things can always be improved on and still have things simple to the end user. That was the whole idea, and I figured it would get shot down as it is alot of work to put it in the game. |

What part of THE PLOT WAS DONE BEFORE HG/SS WERE EVEN ANNOUNCED don't you understand? the whole thing!?
and seeing as it involves time-travel, it fits in perfectly to the hg/ss plot anyways (time travel let's you be in 2 or more places at once, just the other you might be a day older or something, it's very confusing)
@Calla Boom:Idea 2 seems similiar to in the pokemon sidequests in d/p/Pt. where you find a pokemon for the newsgroup and they give you 10 of a random pokeball.
Idea #3 is good but it's not really pokemon then...

| I want a traveling carnival with minigames and special battles! and loads of miniquests the thing I don't like about the actual games is that they don't have a lot of miniquests unrelated to the plot.
