| This is my idea for a pokemon rating system that is easier to read than an all-text rating. Text can be included in the rating for additional information about the team being rated/posted if necessary. ANYWHO... This is the diagram I came up with while trying to rate my own team in Crystal version.
Basically you have 7 circles (or 6 for other pokemon games), each containing a pokemon on your team. There are 2 ways the circles can be linked: dotted lines and solid lines.
Solid lines indicate that the pokemon support eachother. If the solid line has an arrow on one end, It means that the pokemon the line points needs to be supported by the other. If the line has arrows on both ends, it means the pokemon need to support eachother, but can't do that until they are supported by the other (is that a paradox?). Usually, a line has the name of one of the pokemon's moves.
For example, a Flareon (with Sunny Day) would be linked to a Venusaur (with Solarbeam) with a solid line pointed to Venusaur and the move Sunny Day written on the line.
*I am not sure if this is what the dotted lines should be used for. Post if you have a better idea*
Dotted lines function the same way as solid lines, except they are for suggesting a change in moves. For example, if you had a Magneton with Lock On and Zap Cannon, there may be a dotted line with a pokemon that knows Rain Dance pointing to the Magneton; Thunder (instead of Lock and Zap) and Rain Dance written above and below the line. Dotted lines are used for rating only. If you are showing you team in this thread, there is no need for dotted lines.
Example of text-only diagram:
Flareon===(sunny day)===>Venusaur
Vaporeon---(rain dance; thunder)--->Magneton

Anywho...

| Is this a suggestion for Pokemon Twilight? Because it sounds interesting but rather pointless to someone who knows what moves his/her pokemon have if it just replaces the lines in the pokemon selection thing for the party.

Hmm... good point. I guess this could be less useful in Twighlight. It was meant to see how much of your team relied on a single (or two) pokemon, how much does each pokemon do for the rest of the team, and where your team is strongest/weakest. However, it could just be a thing for people to do by themselves on paper instead of on the forum. I just didn't want the thread to die before only a few people got the chance to read it, so I figured it could be used for people to improve eachother's teams (for any pokemon game). |
