| So with summer development on Pokemon Twilight about to kick it into high gear, I have a question for all you users out there. Here is a list of a few things coming with the next update, and a few questions for all our forum members:
Confirmed for next update:
Compatability with an Xbox 360 controller ( windows users will be able to plug in a corded xbox 360 controller to play PT with )
Customizable Controls ( you will be able to choose your keyboard setup )
Leaderboards ( competitive tracked online stats )
Dedicated Server ( will be up almost 24/7 )
New Game Content ( HM cut, new towns, more catchable pokemon, new gyms )
New Pokemon Designs ( will be publically releasing a slough of new pokemon designs )
Local Save Files ( no more saving randomly on the C drive, users with save files on C drive not in danger )
Increased Local Security ( no more duplicate pokemon )
Increased Online Security ( boosted security for online play, admin power coming back mwahahaha )
Potentials for next udpate:
Customizable Characters ( may or may not be in summer update )
Improved Battle System ( depends on time )
Additional Secret Areas ( depends on available time )
Forum Trading ( depends on time, focusing on the server before forum trading )
Daycare Center ( breeding is quite technical and we'll be very careful as to what changes we make in breeding. time sensitive )
Which of these features do you like? Which of these features do you need?
And a final question for you, would you like global controls worked into Pokemon Twilight?
Global controls would include using the mouse and keyboard in traditional PC style as opposed to sticking to the gameboy style of things.
For example:
- mouse clicking attack to attack a pokemon
- typing to rename a pokemon

| I wouldn't use global controls, but I think it would help some people if they were an option.. and how will the controls be customized? Will it just be an option on the initial menu? I think all of those ideas sound treat so far, but breeding is actually kind of low on the list of things I'd want. I would like a Pokemon renamer. Maybe he could be in west russet?
Edit: What will save file compatibility be like with the current version?

| I think the best thing would be an option to turn the global controls either on or off. I you don't want to use it and accidentally do something with your mouse...
Anyway, customisable controls would be nice, but I think only the beginners will use it. People who've been playing PT for a long time will probably stick with the current controls.
The Xbox controller is very nice, I'll try that one out for sure.
Customizable Characters and the Daycare Center are the two potentionals that sound the best to me. The customizable characters is so I can finally become a boy, and the daycare center because people'll be able to breed, which is always nice, especially if you can breed for natures and IVs.
And also, there should be a move relearner and a name rater.

| For the confirmed options, daycare is the one I'd like to see the most, but I understand that you have to be careful and precise with it. I've played a fangame with a breeding system and it didn't work properly, so the offspring only went back one stage from the parent instead of two. The other I'd like to see is the improved battle system, but I understand about the time issue. And for global controls, I've never really liked the clicking to select an attack, but I can say from experience that nicknaming Pokemon with the keypad instead of the normal method is very smooth and natural, and it'd be nice to see. However, if it takes a lot of effort to do, it can be put off, as it is basically a luxury and isn't really necessary.

| Is it normal that abilities aren't in the list?
And, something I wanted to ask - are your stats recorded on the leaderboards when you don't have any internet connection? |

| I say NO to global controls. I would like to see the Daycare center as a feature, but when there isn't enough time I would like either character customisation or improved battle system.
@TwilightDusk, I don't think your stats are recorded when you don't have internet connection, and about the abilities... we just have to wait and see for ourselves.

| In response to your input:
- Global controls will be an option that can be toggled on or off. When turned on, global input will allow keyboard and mouse input. But there will not be seperate options to toggle mouse and keyboard input seperately.
- The daycare will be delayed for now, so that the breeding system can be implemented correctly the first time.
- Old save files will always work with new versions. We will not release a new patch unless the old save files are 100% compatable.
- The ability to rename your pokemon, and the ability to sell items in the mart will be in the next version.
- Abilities and attack animations will not be a focus of the next update as they are too time consuming.
- Leaderboard stats will only be tracked while playing online. It is the only way to ensure security. |

| Yeah, sounds good. Make "global controls" start by being toggled on - it's better that way in my opinion.
Online battles would be very nice indeed, but I guess that's going to take a while - though once you've got the leaderboards up, it should be slightly easier.

| So what about character customisation? Probably time consuming too...
And I think I delete my old save file, I didn't have much strong pokemon so I don't care losing them. |

| I have a question.
Are there some battle animations in the new version?
If there are the game would be like even more to a real pokemon game! |

I don't think so. Gf said this afterall:

| attack animations aren't even important.
I actually got sick of them in the pokemon games and turned them off altogether.
Makes the battles so much faster and less time is wasted watching an attack that takes a whole minute just to show it's bloody animation.
Imagine fighting a pokemon equal in strength to yours, 10 minutes later and you've killed... one pokemon!
attack animations just suck now so I'm glad GF is putting them on hold.

| character customization is far less time consuming than attack animations. On the sprite artist and the programmer. There are over 200 attacks. That's a lot of animations.
On top of that I view character customization as a higher priority. In online games users want to have an identity, that identity will be defined partially by the visual representation of your character. And to top it all off, you spend the entire game staring at your main character, they might as well look how you want them to. |

| I have a small question - will Heart Scales be in the next version? Or will they be added in later? |
