Hey, I'm new here and I loved this game ever since 4.0. I love making my own crazy ideas for anything and everything I play so I made a huge list of suggestions for the abilities of Pokemon. Starters get "boosts [blank] type moves in a pinch" abilities When found in secret areas the starters get: Singet - Momentum - Speed is raised upon KOing another Pokemon Searus - Momentum Infernox - Momentum Urich - Swift Swim Anemoned - Swift Swim Spiquill - Nightfall - Changes the time of day to midnight in battle Quenchi - Filter Althorn - Filter Valkeran - Alternate - Changes from primary to secondary type each turn instead of being both at the same time & also changes the Same Type Attack Bonus from 1.5 to 2.0 Blaze/Overgrow/Torrent is traditional and Alternate is an annoying and clunky sounding ability. Lileef - Multiscale Mayflower - Multiscale They don't have scales. Starlit - Early bird Reagle - Technician (replaces Early Bird on evolution) Eh, this could work. Dandaloft - Chlorophyll/Unburden Welion - Chlorophyll/Unburden Welion should not have unburden. That does not make sense. Mant - Swarm / Flare Boost Termight - Swarm / Flare Boost They both work, although Swarm is a much better choice. Sleaf - Leaf Guard Iomer - Static Good, good... Nucleor - Unstable - When the user faints due to a super effective attack they will explode, dealing 25% of the opponent's max health Why not just give it aftermath or keep static? Trilobur - Water Veil Trilotoggle - Water Veil Petraflow - Swift Swim I fully support these. Fossfian - Water convert - The user's first move is converted into a water type move ...No. Dessafish - Cursed Body Proti - Trace / Adaptability Mesmablob - Trace / Adaptability Minipede - Regenerator Multipede - Regenerator Bluhzard - Intimidate Agreeable. Metemite - Flash Fire / Levitate Astroidus - Flash Fire / Levitate Cosmite - Flash Fire / Levitate Not Flame Body? Spickle - Sheer Force Dribbick - Sheer Force Slagtite - Sheer Force Works as good as anything else. Gargon - Dragon convert - The user's first move is converted into a dragon type move I hope you don't take this personally, but the Convert ability idea is terrible. Vatick - Forewarn / Anticipation Occulet - Forewarn / Anticipation Voyant - Forewarn / Anticipation Koda - Run Away Junzu - Guts Sneekit - Justified / Pickpocket Lolzie - Hyper Cutter Mechasnap - Hyper Cutter Boreal - Ice Body / Snow Cloak Arctusk - Ice Body / Snow Cloak A long string of ideas I can agree with Glane - Technician Glinde - Technician Why? Xiox - Pressure Another one I agree with 100% Krittle - Insomnea / Unaware Diabra - Insomnea / Unaware Why unaware? Jurker - Cloud Nine Stritus - Cloud Nine Nimbillow - Cloud Nine Actually, Stritus and Nimbillow are weather based. Boggat - Super Luck / Scerene Grace Gambowler - Super Luck / Scerene Grace The only two options. Nailed it here. Scrug - Regenerator Gussle - Regenerator Chambrew - Regenerator Fire and Posion-based abilities would work just as well, not that Regenerator is a bad choice. Purpolis - Dry Skin Trollusk - Dry Skin Darusk - Rock Head Deadron - Rock Head Willisp - Cursed Body / Intimidate I like them. Gillup - Normalize Normalize is changed to - The user's first move is converted into a normal type move Algar - Normalize Already addressed. Webtrix - Swarm / Sturdy Triantuslash - Swarm / Sturdy Maggatot - Shed Skin Fluzzer - Shed Skin Brambit - Poison Touch Sagerush - Poison Touch Agreeable. Garboom - Pure Power / Aftermath Kablast - Pure Power / Aftermath Yes. Cesleock - Unaware - Technician Doesn't seem like the type for either of these. Doltipia - Leaf Gaurd / Solar Power Parafin - Leaf Gaurd / Solar Power I'd replace one with Swift Swim. Yimyarn - Prankster Cartassle - Prankster They've been cut from the game. Slatter - Poison Heal Should get something akin to holding a Big Root. Ohdax - Chlorophyl / Solar Power No opinion. Ribian - Storm Drain / Alternate Brazon - Storm Drain / Alternate Alternate is bad and annoyingly complex. I presume Storm Drain is just so the 2cd gym pisses off everyone, regardless of starter? Peepit - Gluttony Tucore - Gluttony Aradian - Gluttony Cubbear - Run Away Yes. Wariclaw - Avenger - Speed, Attack, and Sp.Atk are boosted 10% if every other pokemon on your team has fainted I'd just keep it at Run Away. Jark - Static Jallt - Static Jazakal - Static Motor Drive could work for them as well, but static is probably the best choice. Warmy - Compoundeyes Worgeddon - Compoundeyes ...They don't even have compound eyes. Raow - Run Away Yes. Timparrow - Ghost Convert - The user's first move is converted into a ghost type move Gyrowl - Steel Convert - The user's first move is converted into a steel type move Ryow - Normalize No. Grugeon - Sand Rush / Sand Force As long as I don't find Sand Stream later in this list; I'm writing this as I read. Zigger - Prankster / Tangles Feet Zagger - Prankster / Tangled Feet He does seem like the type to have Prankster. Tangled Feet, not so much. Caribell - Super Luck Caribuck - Super Luck Sure. Lemorang - Moxie / Momentum Tangeromp - Moxie / Momentum Moxie would be priceless. Myraid - Magic Bounce Hybrian - Magic Bounce Boolian - Magic Bounce Good way to separate themselves from the Voyant line as well. Pebbole - Defiant / Sand Veil Anizole - Defiant I guess so. Bayleena - Ice Armor - Boosts defense by 50% in hail It doesn't even have Ice features. Raphyre - Flame Body / Flash Fire Raphlaze - Flame Body / Flash Fire Onimark - Sturdy Gronimus - Sturdy Yes. Mog - Consequences - Poisions foes that try to raise their stats Marog - Consequences Might want another name but I could still see it happening. Swilli - Poision Point Squnge - Poision Point Sprnigling - Healer / Leaf Guard Sprangling - Healer / Leaf Guard Hartoom - Healer / Leaf Guard Makes sense. Gorva - Synchronize Skeever - Synchronize Morbido - Synchronize Genius. I am dead serious, this completely redeems the Convert idea. Flumboyant - Defiant Pompiingo - Defiant Defiant doesn't seem quite right. Rotato - Sturdy / Guts Pillage - Sturdy / Guts I'd say just sturdy. Chillibre - Spicy - Raises speed when burned (and allows the pokemon to be burned regardless of type) Peppicore - Spicy No opinion. Fluffun - Pickup Ghoomber - Poison Heal / Equalize - Moves become more powerful if you have less HP Relch - Poison Heal / Equalize Fluffun was also cut. I agree with the Relch and Ghoomber ideas. Vhine - Synchronize / Magic Guard Plooze - Synchronize / Magic Guard Dionius - Synchronize / Magic Guard Not overgrow? Harrow - Keen Eye / Momentum Harrock - Keen Eye / Momentum Both work. Bribble - Mold Breaker Bhrime - Mold Breaker I don't even know what they're supposed to be but Mold Breaker doesn't sit right. Flote - Clear Body Glowm - Clear Body Jelluminous - Sunrise - Changes the time of day to morning in battle Okay. Jelluminous should have Clear Body as well. Cryon - Ice Armor Cruo - Ice Armor Cragon - Ice Armor 50% Defense boost is too much for what is almost certainly a pseudo-legendary. Yogoro - Consequences Gagamoz - Ice Armor Beelzon - Ultra Heat - All fire type attacks have a 5% chance of burning the opponent (that can be added on to an existing burning move's percentage) I'd just go for pressure. Dieces - Alternate This could almost work for it.

stuff
Thanks for the criticism, I have updated the first post. I might just turn this into a general idea thread, for moves and new Pokemon and whatnot.

I'm just gonna say that there's no reason at all Wariclaw would keep Run Away. Very few Pokemon ever hits its final form as has that ability, and it's a bad one to begin with. It doesn't fit Wariclaw at all, and I'd be quite angry if Wariclaw were to have that. Also, for Algar, Normalize is a legit ability, and it does change all attacks into the Normal type, but I don't like it because Algar is gonna be the Pokemon with moves like Flamethrower and Ice Beam and stuff, so it needs the diversity, which is why I like your choice for Sap Sipper.

Normalize is not a legit ability, because it puts you at a huge disadvantage if you have it. Your opponent can switch to anything resistant to the attack type and since ANY attack you use will be x type, you're just going to have to deal with it. Basically, it makes you predictable.

I would spoiler it but spoilers are not working for me. I think this thread is different enough to have its own thread. Anyway, I would like some more variation, specifically fewer weather abilities. Most of them should stay, but there are a few worth changing. Lileef, Mayflower, Dandaloft, Trilobur, Trilotoggle, Petraflow, Boreal, Arctusk, Glane, Glinde, Purpolis, Trollusk, Doltopia, Parafin, Grugeon, Pebbole, Anizole, Springling, and Sprangling. Wellion should have Intimidate or Sheer Force. Sleaf should have Poison Heal/Poison Point. The cloud pokemon should have levitate. Ribian and Brazon could possibly have something else but I admit I have no ideas for what it would be. Bayleena should have Thick Fat. Bribble and Bhrime just should not have abilities assigned yet. Also, Sneekit should be Pickpocket/Pickup.

No, I mean that Normalize is an actual ability in the Pokemon games, exclusive to Skitty and Delcatty, but it is a bad one. I was just pointing out that it had merit as opposed to Dragon Convert or whatever it was.

Actually, the "Convert" abilities sound useful. It looks like he only wants the first move-slot to change type. It helps you get a nice STAB move, and also leaves room for coverage. He doesn't want the "Convert" abilities to make EVERY move the same type.

I don't think that's what he means, but even if it is then you get STAB hyper beam on everything that gets a convert ability. I say it's bad no matter which way you're looking at it.

... @%&#. Didn't think about that one. In that case, just give those pokemon adaptability I guess.

I just realized that Brazon and Ribian should have Magman Armor.
