| QUOTE: dum0dum I didn't get much easter chocolate only the ones that weren't put into the eggs.
Easter overall is one of my least favorite holidays, its essentially Halloween's overly perky closeted gay conservative republican cousin. you dress up but in itchy formal clothes that you hate, you get candy but you have to actually go looking for these tiny little annoying rainbow colored eggs in the hot sun. and you have to go to church. Which has become a chore for me because the preacher at the church I am forced by my parents to go to is one of the people who constantly uses Mel Gibson as an example of whatever is relevant to that week's lesson, and a few weeks ago told the entire congregation to ignore basically all depressed people so they will become happy. And totally ruined my easter by saying the Jews killed Jesus.
Easter is really low on my list of holidays right now...
thank god I don't live in America! the land of casual priests who love Mel Gibson and aren't very smart.
anyways saying Easter and Halloween are very closely related is very bad and in fact could offend Christian people.
Halloween is 100% pagan and has nothing to do with Jesus.
Though Easter holds on to some traditions which are apparently pagan (the easter chicken/bunny and stuff I think [or so I've heard]) Easter's main focus is still Jesus' death and resurrection.
You're right about the Jews; They didn't kill Jesus.
They did however, play a role. In the end the romans killed him though.
I go to Church every week, so I don't see why you're complaining.
The fact your formal clothes are itchy, I can't help you with.
@Cruzer: yes, such a shame you're lactose intolerant. I really feel for you... can I perhaps have your chocolatez?

I wouldn't say romans killed him they really had no say in who was released or not it was mostly the pharisees' fault from my perspective, holding illegal trials and being a corrupt group of asshats and all.
Many "Christian" holidays aren't actually Christian, Christmas for example was in existence long before Christianity and it is now considered one of the biggest Christian holidays there is. I'm pretty sure most "Christian" holidays have what some would consider a pagan equivalent. And since when do I give a fuck who I offend? If they find it offensive that I compare days of the year that are obviously similar to each other and get offended someone needs to link them to ED's offensive page...
I'm complaining about church because I go in the southern united states which isn't known for its tolerance of anything the latest and most popular preacher decides isn't right. The entire church is a large group of gossiping hypocritical pretentious judgmental jerks that mostly consist of the richest people in town. They are essentially just a slightly nicer version of the fundie christian stereotype, since they wont publicly say how terrible of a person you are but they will let you know by telling everyone how terrible of a person you are. I don't mind most churches but when they are just so ignorant like that I can't stand to be around them because I'm offended by the way they so callously think that everyone who doesn't go to their kind of church is a dirty sinner and just ignore them and give them these terrible stares. And they are all so prideful that no one will call any other out on anything they do wrong including the preacher who they should be calling out if he strays otherwise he'll just keep going in the wrong direction.
And that is why I hate my church and hate most holidays I have to attend church...

| How can I not? I can't pick up a pencil or put my headphones in without getting twenty fingers jabbed into my side or being pulled out for a talk. the best I can get away with is looking at the clock on my phone. |
