Yep Of course, you can only get up to the first Guardian in the demo, so don't expect to see too much of what Creatures has to offer.

Guardian? What's that? Like a gym battle?

Basically, yeah. They're the bosses in the game. There's nine of them, each one representing a different element. Together they make up the Examination Board for the Battle Tournament, and you have to gain each one's approval before you can be qualified to enter. It sounds pretty much exactly like Pokemon so far, I know, but it is different. The Guardians all have lives outside of being a Guardian, and so you have to track them down in order to battle them. Some will fight you right away, others won't for reasons that may or may not be apparent. One of my favorite Guardians is Father Lucian, the Light Guardian. He used to be a great battler before he gave it up to join the clergy, and now he refuses to fight anyone. Of course, you get him to fight you in the end, but how you do it's a secret And, completely off-topic, Father Lucian has one of my favorite Creatures, Seraphry, which is the third form of my Angelic Creature. There's a link posted to it if you haven't already seen it.

Why are they in a particular order? Is that the order of the Guardians you face?

Yes, that's the order of the Guardians. And there's other elements, too. They just don't have anyone representing them yet.

Are they basically the same types as in Pokemon?

Yeah, the only type I added was Light. I changed some of them, like rock and ground are both in the Earth type in Creatures, grass is now Plant and flying is now Air, but they're all basically the same as Pokemon's. It's hard making up types when Pokemon's got them all pretty much in their games already

Mew may have originally spread word of the franchise, but it doesn't mean that mew alone was what made the Pokemon games popular. It's like in "Willy Wonka"; everyone already knew and loved the chocolate Willy Wonka made, but when he said he placed a golden ticket in five chocolate bars, everyone went and bought as many as they could.

Yeah, it was just an incentive to buy it all the sooner.

Exactly. It was a highly successful advertising strategy and the thought of secrets in the game probably added to the overall appeal of Pokemon, but it didn't create that appeal.

That's probably why GF and Kabob are making secret areas in PT

Yeah Secret areas are cool. So, I have another idea for my Creatures game, which I'm probably going to use. Instead of random encounters happening by walking in tall grass, the player will have to use bait to attract Creatures. There would be different types of bait for different Creatures, and to make things easier for beginning players, there would be some type of bait that's free but only attracts a couple of weak Creatures. What do you think?
