| hey there!
I'm just wondering why the game needs at least 50% of my dual core (laptop) CPUs?
Is there anything I missed? any trick? something to install to help perhaps?
In small rooms it's no big deal, it runs smoothly - but in the "big world" it seems to go a bit slow....
thanx alot u guys!
big fan

| that's because of all the extra scenery.
When I get the .gmk i'll work on reducing it for you guys with slower processor speeds.

| yeah mate, thanks alot
it's not that i can't play it faster on my quad6600 but i love it and really like to play it anywhere with my netbook^^
and well it seems to work quite properly (and with a lot less cpu usage) in low detail mode...
but it's not really clear to me why a game with such a... low quality (i'm sorry, but its nothing compared to other games that run properly) will not run the qay it's supposed to be
but now i know some1's going to look at it and therefore i'm quite sure it's gonna be okay
thanks a lot again
€dit: i noticed (now that i advanced in the game) that those problems were probably only related to route 7, in any other location it's fine with low details |

| You can't compare this to other games, it's Pokemon, and worst of all it's been programmed in GameMaker, not C++.
The only way to improve the performance would be to split up the areas into each town, route, city, cave, etc. Into it's own room resources, making sure things that can't be seen aren't processed, etc.
I managed to get the beta V5 to juice out 5 fps more on my single core and it ran at a steady 10fps... playable but unbearable for a game as large as this.

| Yeah but you probably have a dual core at the worst, I still use a single core Celeron D processor at 2.5gHz... |

| It runs fine on my single core computer and I know its lower than 2.5ghz, I think its 2.1 or maybe 2.2 at best. It's not like GM is designed for dual core anyway. My 2.0ghz dual core laptop runs it fine too.

Is it Celeron or a Pentium (or is it not Intel?) |

| Yeah but this problem needs to be checked out. I run i think either a single or a dual 3.3ghz intel processor.

| Not to end the discussion, however:
There is VERY little we could do to make the game run any faster. We've done everything we can for now with the exception of invisible room transitions ( which are blocky ) Maybe when a later version of Game Maker is released we can make PT run much faster, but for now its going to be what its going to be. We have done everything in our ability to make the game playable on the widest variety of machines. If you still have problems with the game speed you'll have to cross your fingers for a future more efficient version of game maker.
