Whenever I am about to beat the first gym leader, the game crashes. (It still runs if I loose) Any ideas why?

That's strange. There shouldn't be an error when you fight a Gym Leader. What happens exactly after you defeat him? Is it after you beat the last Pokemon or after he pays you? And does it just simply close or does something else happen?
