| Hey guys! It's Zappy! It sure has been a while since I've been here!
I've been working on a little project which I just call "Monster." It's a life-simulation/real-time strategy game I've been coding with Game Maker.
It's basically just like any other Monster Raising game.
In the game, you can purchase eggs from the shop, where you can hatch them in a holding area or pen. In here, you can feed, train, and breed them alongside other monsters.
When ready, Monsters can be taken to arenas to fight, race, sumo, etc.
There are more features available, but not that I want to reveal quite yet.. ;)
Here's the current version. Please post any feedback you have about it and if there is anything you want to see in the game.

| That looks pretty epic! One question though, what happened to your other game? The one with the bugs?

That was quite a while ago haha
I never actually had any development on that thing. It was kinda a "spur of the moment" kind of thing.
I've been working on this one for months, though. |

Oh no! My secret is out! It's fine. Nintendo has been doing it for years.

| Here's a screenshot of the near-complete racing engine.
I was actually hoping to see if anyone wanted to help with this little endeavor of mine. It's a big project and I don't think I can do it by myself. If anyone would like to participate in the coding, spriting, beta-testing aspects, I would greatly appreciate it. I'd be completely wiling to help anyone out with their games, considering that there are a lot of projects floating around here. |

I'd be happy to help, but my spriting is around lame, my coding skills are inexistent, the best I can do is play... Maybe find some glitches and stuff, but I'm pretty sure you wanted something more important, like a coder/programmer, and in that way, I really cant help... :P
Wish I could, though...
This game looks pretty good, some great spriting you have there, sounds like a solid work. And it's good to see people actually saying that they cant do something alone, and asking for help, so, the very best of luck for your project and I hope it turns out the way you want it, or even better! :)

| what about stat boosting? would you do it from equipment or various training options. i saw something once were you get like 5 training points per level. and you could spend them on training excersizes to boost your monsters stats.
you could do a mix EV, equipment kind of stat boost. and how are you going to determine how they evolve

| Was that comment really necessary? It wasn't even constructive, it was just you being a dick to boost your post count. |

| The leveling system as of now is based all on experience. You get more experience by fighting, but you can get some by eating food. Stats and other modifiers can be changed with equipment bought in a shop. The equipment changes their stats by a value of 1, and also keeps the monsters happy.
Aside from that, I've been working on the battle system, and really wanted to get started spriting a stage just so I have something to show people, get them excited about the project.
My only issue is that I find myself TERRIBLE at level design. SOOOOOO lets make this a little competition. Whoever can make the best level design (something good, "winner by default" is not good enough) I will make them a trainer in the game. Meaning I'll design a character based on their likeness, and turn them into a boss of some sort.
Here are the different stages to choose from. I'll give out the names, just let your imagination wander!
1. Rock Canyon
2. Thunder Ridge
3. Iron Woods
Just post your level design in the thread.
Let's have fun! :D |

| I'm somewhat wondering, what kind of level is this supposed to be? A platformer level, a background, something else? |

I'm glad you asked! Think more along the lines of a Street Fighter/other fighting game style of level.

| Alright guys! 2013 has finally come around, and I've got some progress for ya!
I've been hashing out a working demo for about a week now. The game isn't really much out of it's player editor and basic farm system.
Here's a small demo for you guys! You can hit enter in the farm to reset the game or space to reset the room.
Let me know if there are any bugs. Also, let me know if there are ANY additions or changes you think should be made. I want to please the player, so let's get some input! :D |

| The demo looks good so far! I'm not sure which features are in the demo at the moment, could you give us a list of features? Also, I couldn't change my hairtyle (only hair colour). |

Alright, I'll put the features and the current GMK file at the top of the post. Hair style shouldn't be an issue, though. There are seven styles and you cycle through them using the arrows next to the text that say "Style 2" or whatever. |
