I don't normally make topics, but I thought this would be a good one. Pokemon games are very enjoyable to play, but there have been times when Game Freak have done things wrong. There have also been times when they have done things that have been really good. Feel free to post the things you think have been really good/bad in the pokemon games. This is about the main pokemon games, not spin-offs. Note - Do NOT post just saying "gen. 4 was bad" or anything like that. Everybody knows that. I'll start off with a few things. Good >HG/SS (And a bit in D/P/Pt) - Having Pokemon follow you. Great feature - I love it. >GTS - global trading, just what we wanted :D Bad >D/P/Pt - Being able to get almost all of the pokemon without one of the gen. 3 games. What was the point of collecting all the pokemon on gen. 3 if they were obtainable on Platinum?? >Making pokemon that were rare on R/S/E and Fr/Lg common on the gen. 4 games. Chimecho is a perfect example. Really rare on R/S/E, but extremely common in D/P/Pt. All that effort finding him in gen. 3 for nothing. >Not re-ordering the national dex simply because they don't want to change it around. This makes no sense! Put Pichu next to Pikachu and Steelix next to Onix! It seems they are a lot more bad things in my list than good. I've probably missed out a load of obvious points too. Please post with your thoughts. This will be useful in helping Pokemon Jade be the best pokemon game ever too :P We will try to address all the bad things, and include all the good things. For example, pokemon following should be in PJ, as well as a form of GTS. If we make a second gen. of Jade (way in the future perhaps) the rare pokemon will stay rare, lots of pokemon will only be obtainable in gen. 1 and the dex will get re-ordered if new evo's get added.

Well since you can only trade one way so it's still rare in generation 3, so as long as you don't transfer it then theres still a point.

I reckon it's good they didn't re-order the national dex as the people would get confused with it. not to mention they re-order the pokedex for the specific region, like in diamond turtwig was first, and in hg/ss its gonna start with chikorita and bulbasuar doesnt come till #231. also i found out theres 6 gen4 pokemon, i saw yanmega and ambipom. (in addition to the ones earlier found)

I suppose, but really, you want all your pokemon on the newest game (or at least, I do).

hell by the time nintendo's through 1 of 2 things might happen. 1. you can catch everything but less than half the game will be about catching and battling pokemon. 2. everything will be rare but the game will be so diverse it'll lose face.

Ok, here’s another thing to think about. What do you think Game Freak should add to Pokemon games?

i think all local wireless connections shoud be like pt's online functionality. game freak could easily do this as they already have done something similiar with the undergrounds tunnels in sinnoh.

Like in PT you mean? Also, I think they should change secret bases back to how they were in gen. 3 as well as getting rid of the underground, or at least making it more interesting.

i like how the old games had consoles for trading. the battling in a sort of arena though is better.

you should be able to find pokemon (not fossils) in the underground.

I think since HG and SS are remakes, they should not put gen. 4 pokemon in the Johto Pokedex. Also the great marsh in D/P/Pt was just failed.

I agree. i reckon they should make it so johto and kanto only has the original gen 1 & 2 pokemon and then to get the other gens you'd have to catch a battleship to hoenn or sinnoh. now you may ask yourself why a battleship? I'll tell you why! because battleships are f***ing awesome and cos then u could "accidentally" destroy the islands that give homes to the crappiest pokemon in existence.

I agree with not having gen. 3+ pokemon in HG/SS, but instead of a ship going to Hoenn/Sinnoh, you should be able to find them after you get the national dex. Also, Hoenn was pretty cool.

amen brother! Just like they did to Tyrogue, Igglybuff, Cleffa, Mime Jr., Tangrowth, Budew, Roserade, Munchlax, Porygon2, Porygon-Z, Magmortar, Smoochum, Chingling and about 55 others, it's supposed to put them in order! They did it even to Dusknoir, Blissey and Slowking it gets on my bad-side. I think to add, to trade wireless you shouldn't need the name and code but do this instead: 1.Put your Pokemon in the trading service 2.Another person puts one in the trading service 3.If 2 people have the same Pokemon that the people wanted they are sent a request 4.If both accept the request you guys trade when both in the trading room 5.You can also do an advanced search trade (of course it'd be thrice as hard to find a match)
